It only took me one round to get used to not having a sightline. 3rd round using it I shot 73 with 22 putts! Now I realize how easy this thing is to aim. Face feels great and rolls great too. I definitely prefer the sound and feel of this putter, the Spider Tour red feels too soft and has a muted sound.
Have putted with a blade for 20+ years and this is the first mallet style putter that suits my eye and putting stroke. The putter also has an awesome feel making distance control a snap.
So we'll weighted/balanced. It absolutely putts a true ball on line every time. If I miss it is because I have chosen the wrong line. No more shutting or closing of the face at impact; squares itself. Most likely the last putter I will need to buy. Great job, TaylorMade!
I have been playing the TP5 for anout three weeks and love it. I have played ChromeSoft, Superhot 70, Project a, all great balls. This season I find my best scores come when playing the TP5. Good distance and spin.
needs a sight line down center of club head. I went to auto parts store and bought some pin striping and it works great.
best performing putter I have tried. easy to stroke, easy to align, eliminates my left rolling putts. easy to feel for distance control. but theres a problem, the pure roll insert is truly soft and easily misshapen, edges of the pure roll can be bent with just using fingernails and a unlucky strike with a sand on the ball already chipped off a portion of the pure roll "louver". i just dont know if its affected the performance of the putter already but so far its still working fine. make absolute sure that ball is clean before putting. which may force a chip in instead of a putt in to avoid pure roll insert damage.
Well balanced. Ball rolls smooth off face
Have only used once. Have noticed a loose impediment in the shaft and not sure if normal. Will take some time to get used to it. Did not receive any paperwork/manual with the putter identifying characteristics like the weighting. Jury is still out whether it will be an upgrade to my blade putter.
This putter had a wonderful feel to it. The head seems to stay in the zone. Very pure feel. I am a Scotty Cameron man until I used the Spider. It is not a fad, it is a wonderful product!
my first round with the Spider Black I shot a 68 with 24 total putts!!! couldn't be happier!
