I bought this putter and lover the ease of alignment and high forgiveness. The putter rolls great. I am obsessive about keeping my clubs looking clean and new. With that being said, it is next to impossible to preserve the paint on these putters no matter the color you select. I purchased the chalk white model and friends of mine have both copper and Navy. All chip within a few rounds and it seems to be a common problem. ThereÂ’s no way to justify paying a premium price for this putter and not have the paint hold up. Also, no one will ever buy a used putter with excessive paint blemishes so thereÂ’s practically no resale value. Based on performance, they nailed it, but until thereÂ’s a solution for the paint, I will continue to carry Taylormade through the bag minus putter.

Retired my Ping Anser after 20 years and went with the Spider because of how stable the putter feels. Because of the weight and design, my arms and hands are far less wobbly than they were with the very light blade putter. My issue is how easy the paint is already chipping off after about 12 rounds. I take very good care of this putter and is always in its cover when not in use. Also baffling are the minor nicks and dings in the back of the putter. My Ping has really stood the test of time, not sure how long this will.

Been using a blade putter for a long time! Switched to Spider X after a few demos at a local golf store. Once I found out which model worked best for me, I picked it up from TM. I'm a decent putter so I didn't see any change on the green. But the feel is second to none!

I've had this putter for over a month now. I've actually only played with it twice. It definitely needs more weigh than what it comes with. But how much? Every comment I could find said they bought the 12 grams, which adds 24 grams to the overall weight of the putter. I didn't want to guess so I googled that a $1 coin was 8 grams, a shield back penny was 3.1 grams. So by tapping these coins to the underside of my putter in different combinations, adding the weight of the coins plus the 2 grams that came with the putter, I figured what weight I needed to purchase. I purchased the 8 gram weights and now it feels great. I can't imagine using the 12 grams. I read so many reviews before purchasing my putter. A couple of people stated that the finish nicks easily. It does. With that I am disappointed. Luckily I have car paint the same color and can touch it up. Over all I am excited to use this putter this summer. Oh, by the way, I am a 8 handicap, my putter wasn't bad before, but I expect it to improve. Just love seeing the Pros on TV using the same putter that I have.

It has a really great feel. Super easy to get square at impact. Rolls the ball well (better than most others). Confidence inspiring. My only criticism is that I can’t use the back of the putter to scoop up my ball! I think I have finally found a putter.

I got a putter fitting on SAM PuttLab and the Spider X fit me best. It gets the ball rolling immediately and on-line with good pace. All I do now is hole putts. Nearly paid for itself after 2 rounds of going hammer birdie on these fools.
