#TeamTaylorMadeCA Thursday - Ashley and David Zibrik

There are not many couples who are can say they are both PGA of Canada professionals. There are even fewer who are both the director of golf at his and her respective club. But that’s exactly who Ashley and David Zibrik are.

Married since 2012, Ashley and Dave Zibrik PGA of Canada professionals, they’re each the Director of Golf at Top 100 venues and are members of the TaylorMade Golf Canada Advisory Council. Oh, and they’re two of the most respected people in the Canadian golf industry.

It’s no secret that being a Director of Golf at a prestigious venue is time consuming. But, the Zibrik's say it’s all part of their lifestyle.

“Being a PGA of Canada Professional has always been more of a lifestyle than a job,” said David, who is the Director of Golf at Point Grey and Country Club. “We’ve both been in the golf industry so long that that our daily life as married couple who are PGA pros is just normal to us.”

Ashley, the Director of Golf at Shaughnessey Golf and Country Club, agrees with the work/life balance as a PGA professional.

“Dave and I are both driven individuals and are very passionate about our careers,” she says. “We have a work hard, play hard mentality and schedule our lives accordingly to make things work.”

They both also agree that their young son Jordan—who was born in 2017— helps to keep them grounded.

“Having our son Jordan has provided us both with something that is more important than golf and gives us some perspective on what is truly important,” David said.

Members of the #TeamTaylorMadeCA family since 2017 and 2018 respectively, Ashley and David both wanted to be on the same page when it came to supporting a brand.

“Team Zibrik wanted to support the same brand,” Ashley says. “Both Dave and I feel that TaylorMade’s support of PGA of Canada Professionals and the Association is very much appreciated.”

David adds, “What originally drew me to the brand was that I felt the product was superior to what I had been playing previously.”

David says he can’t wait to put the new P*7MB irons into the bag, while Ashley says the P*790 Ti irons she’s been gaming this year have been “pretty sweet.”

As you’d imagine, both Ashley and David are accomplished players, both of whom have won PGA of BC championships in the past. As you also might expect, when the pair finds time to play together, things are a mix of being competitive and fun.

“We are typically pretty competitive when we are out there, so we try to play for something when we can,” David says. “But mostly, we really just enjoy being able to get out and tee it up with each other.”

Like all of us here at TaylorMade Golf Canada, Ashley and David are big fans of the #TeamTaylorMade stable of athletes. However, they are not on the same page when it comes to picking a favourite.

“T-I-G-E-R,” David spells it out, while Ashely says, “Rory is the absolute best.”
