The second major of the year on the LPGA Tour is here and this year's bag and headcovers reflect the essence women's golf in America. Let's go behind the design of the bag and accessories Nelly Korda and Team TaylorMade will carry this week at Lancaster Country Club.
Inspired by the city of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, a former U.S. Capital, the 2024 Women's Summer Commemorative staff bag combines details found within the foundation of the city of Lancaster with the red, white and blue icons of American spirit.
To pay homage to Lancaster's nickname, the Red Rose City, red roses are featured on various parts of the bag. The TaylorMade script logo on the side panel has three roses placed below it, with an individual rose above it on the navy blue portion of the bag. Rose silhouettes line the top and bottom of the bag to bring an elegant feel to the combination of the red, white and blue colours.
There are many hidden details within this year's bag beyond the red roses and throwback script font. On the handle of the bag is the year 1900, which is when Lancaster Country Club first opened.
The front accessories pouch features a clock which is a tip of the cap to the National Watch and Clock Museum in Lancaster, while the base of the bag resembles a wagon wheel used in Amish culture in the surrounding areas of the city. On the back of the bag, below the TaylorMade script font, the accessories pouch has the has the cutout of Lancaster County seen on the map of Pennsylvania.
The 2024 Women’s Summer Commemorative headcovers display complete American pride. The driver headcover has "TM" on the top in blue script font with a white background and the stars and stripes below it. The fairway headcover features stars surrounding the classic "T-bug" with red and white stripes below it on the front and a blue backside with the TM script logo and stars below it.
Rescue headcovers have a solid white front with script TaylorMade lettering and a sprinkle of stars at the bottom of the headcover. Both putter headcovers are covered in stars and stripes with the "T-bug" logo in blue.
