Received this club from Taylormade today and hit the driving range right after work. Bought the 10.5 degree head but dialled it down 2 degrees. Very impressed with this club. After an hour, I’m already hitting the ball longer and straighter than ever.
Similar to another reviewer, I had the opportunity to get fit for driver and woods yesterday by Bobby at Taylormade. After reviewing my numbers and a swing analysis, he knew pretty quickly what shaft would work for me and he absolutely nailed it. Got my swing speed up to 106 from 101, target launch numbers and lower spin all while giving me an additional 30 yards and tighter dispersion. Needless to say I placed an order already and am anxiously awaiting my new clubs.
Best driver I've ever hit. Got it with a custom shaft and came quicker than expected. Hit the most fairways I've ever hit in my life. Would recommend to anyone looking.
Good Quality, got the 10.5, with blue shaft, very happy with it
Yesterday (24 January 2024) I had the privilege (that I paid for) of being fitted by Bobby at the Taylormade fitting center in Toronto. I previously owned Stealth 2, Stealth 1 and a multitude of other Taylormade drivers ( in excess of 2 dozen, hey burner bubble!). I learned more about my golf swing in an hour and a half, than I ever have and was amazed about the clubs forgiveness. Year to year I have seen minor changes which rarely truly made it seem different ( or better ) than the previous model. THAT TOTALLY CHANGED AFTER HITTING THIS DRIVER. I had a good sense of where I was hitting the ball on the face, but the results were far better than I would have anticipated, or even blindly hoped for. For the first time in my golfing career I was hitting a baby fade (usually draw or worse), misses and even ugly misses were still a baby fade. I'm 66yrs old, somewhat athletic, with a clubhead speed of 95 miles per hour. My pre fitting carry was 189 yards ( carry only ), after dialing in with lower loft and stiffer heavier shaft ( stock Mitsubishi ) , carry only - went up to 218 yds, with rollout in the 240 yd range. Bobby you really know your stuff, my faith in your abilities was justified. To anyone else, if you want to learn lots about your swing, this is your man. I purchased the specified club Qi10 Max 10.5 Mits regular ( which they built right then), and played on indoor golf ( St Andrews Old Course ) today, the same baby fade ( 5yds) was present, later in the round I hit a ball that was very high on the toe and almost off the end of the club, I know were I hit it because the plastic shrink wrap was still on. I was stunned by how stable the clubhead was with the toe hit, the computer seemed to agree, 220yds about 7 yards of centre to the right, I was stunned for the rest of the round by what I had witnessed. It made no sense, but that is just how stable the head is. A normal good round would be 82 on this course, today for the first time in my golf career I shot a 75. This is not a Harry Potter Magic Wand, but it's also not the usual new and improved smoke and mirrors annual colour change. I would best describe this as Revolutionary as opposed to evolutionary (it just felt that different). If you've been holding out for the next great thing, this might be it. For me- it is definitely the next great thing, I'll be migrating to Florida for March from The Great White North and am getting very excited to see how it does on some real courses... Rob M. I'll update later.
