Nelly Korda came from behind to win in her third consecutive start at the Ford Championship Presented by KCC with Qi10 Max driver and TP5x golf ball. Korda posted a Sunday 65 to finish 20-under and win by two-strokes to become the first player to win in three consecutive starts on the LPGA Tour since 2016.
The win marks Korda’s 11th on the LPGA Tour and makes her the first American player to win three times in a row since 1978.
Korda went out in 33 and then made birdies on 12 and 13 to take the outright lead. On 16 and tied for the lead, Korda used her P·7MC to nearly spin her TP5x golf ball into the hole on her approach shot before tapping in for birdie to re-take the lead. She finished in style on 18 making her seventh birdie of the day to be the clubhouse leader at 20-under.

- Stealth 2 21.0° 7-wood (Fujikura Ventus Black 7 S)

- P·7MC 6-PW (AeroTech SteelFiber i80 cw)
- Milled Grind 4 50° SB, 54° SB (AeroTech SteelFiber i95 cw)
- TP5x golf ball
Korda switched into the Qi10 Max 10.5° driver at the PNC Championship in November 2023 and has won all three of her starts in 2024 with the driver. In her own words, Korda loved the look of the driver at address and easily finds the center of the clubface and hit any shot she wants on command. For the week, Korda hit 77% of fairways en route to the victory.
Her TP5x golf ball has also been in the bag for all three victories. She switched into TP5x in the fall of 2023 from TP5 after looking to reduce spin with her driver and irons and lower launch and spin on chip shots around the greeens. This is Korda’s fourth worldwide win with a TaylorMade golf ball.
WHY NELLY PLAYS A P·770 & P·7MC COMBO SET
Nelly has played a P·770 and P·7MC combo set since joining Team TaylorMade at the beginning of the 2023 season going with a P·770 5-iron and P·7MC in 6-PW. Nelly chose P·770 because of the height and spin it produces and P·7MC for more workability.
In initial testing with her long irons (5-6), Nelly aimed to add height to hold greens from distances of 180-200 yards. The P·770 irons seamlessly answered this requirement, providing an additional 15-feet in height and delivering perfect carry distances. The pairing with P·7MC irons delivered Nelly tighter dispersion and precise distance control. For the tournament, Korda hit 79% of greens in regulation.
A crucial change to Korda’s irons came at last years LPGA Drive On Championship in Phoenix when our TaylorMade tour reps hard stepped Korda’s irons to minimize the draw and stiffen them slightly. Since the change, Nelly has won four times.
