Playing the right golf ball is essential to playing your best and getting the highest level of performance out of your equipment. It may seem like there isn’t a difference between the ball on the top shelf of the pro shop vs. the bottom shelf, but in reality, that decision could make or break your round.
That’s where we come in. TaylorMade currently offers five different golf balls at various price points as well as customization and visual technology packages. Let’s identify the ball that’s best for your game.
First, here are golf balls that you can choose from:
- TP5x
- TP5
- Tour Response™
- SpeedSoft™
- Distance+
In addition, there are various visual technology offerings to better your game:
- TP5/TP5x pix™
- TP5/TP5x Stripe
- TP5/TP5x Hi-Vis Yellow
- TP5/TP5x Hi-Vis Yellow pix
- Tour Response Stripe™
- Tour Response Hi-Visibility Yellow
- SpeedSoft Ink

TP5x is the fastest 5-layer Tour ball, prioritizing ball speed for golfers seeking increased velocity off the clubface. It delivers low-spin performance with driver and long irons for more distance, while maintaining exceptional greenside control. The new Speed Wrapped Core makes TP5x now a ½ club longer* while also delivering a softer sound and better feel. TP5x, as well as TP5, comes in high-visibility yellow.

TP5, the softest 5-layer Tour ball, delivers a notably softer feel and enhanced spin around the green with lower driver spin than the previous generation. It is engineered with a new Speed Wrapped Core that delivers a softer sound while promoting a faster, more responsive overall design. For golfers who prioritize touch and feel in their short game, TP5 provides precision greenside performance.

TP5 and TP5x Stripe feature our cutting-edge 360° ClearPath Alignment™, which is a digital band that wraps around the center of the ball with a thin black line to match the sight line on your putter. The design of TP5 and TP5x Stripe aids in lining up your putts more accurately, consistently, and quickly. 360° ClearPath Alignment also gives you immediate feedback on the quality of your roll and helps aim your tee shots straight down the middle of the fairway. On wedge shots, you’ll be able to see how the ball spins off the club face whether you’re trying to hit a low spinner that skips to a back pin, or a soft lob over a bunker.

TP5/TP5x pix golf balls build on the groundbreaking visual technology of ClearPath Alignment, which is the most played all-over print visual technology on Tour. Compared to previous generations, the new model features a longer centerline and additional color contrast, offering golfers easier alignment and more precise feedback on the green.

The all-new Tour Response balls have a 100% cast urethane cover that provides added spin and greenside control compared to ionomer. The softer material allows wedge grooves to grip the ball for enhanced spin while also maintaining durability. For the first time ever in Tour Response, we’ve incorporated the Speed Wrapped Core, which reduces its density and in turn dampens the sound and fosters faster ball speed and increased distance. At the same time, a compression of 70 produces an exceptionally soft feel you need for control on short shots.

There’s a growing number of golfers who want to stand out from the crowd. That’s why we made Tour Response Stripe™, for those who want to play and experience the game in full color. Now, the stripe is even brighter. Working with some of the world’s foremost leaders in visual technology, our R&D teams were able to use proprietary technology to incorporate neon digital ink into Tour Response Stripe golf balls. The ink includes fluorescent additives that are premixed and make the 360° ClearPath Alignment stripe more vibrant than ever before.

The all-new SpeedSoft and SpeedSoft Ink bring home TaylorMade’s golf ball family for 2024. Through PWRCORE technology, SpeedSoft provides ultra-low compression that combines distance off the tee with ultra-soft feel on iron shots and around the green. SpeedSoft comes in white, yellow and high visibility Ink™. Ink color offerings are green, blue and pink.

The all-new Distance+ offers high-velocity performance for distance on all shots. Combining a REACT™ Speed Core and high-speed, low-drag aerodynamics, golfers will experience a golf ball designed for speed. Distance+ features an all-new Extended Flight 322-Dimple Pattern that fights through the wind and stays in the air for shots that fly long and stay online. The Plus Alignment Aid makes sure your putts are aimed online and your putter is square to the target, while also helping you aim your tee shots right down the middle of the fairway.
